Overwhelmed after EMDR, Breathwork, Somatics, or Trauma Work? Try This Gentle Grounding Practice

Sometimes deep personal work can leave us feeling more activated than we expected. Whether you've recently done EMDR, breathwork, somatic therapy, TRE, or another form of trauma processing, your nervous system may simply need time and support to settle and integrate.

In this gentle guided practice, I'll walk you through calming somatic exercises designed to help your body slow down without asking it to process anything further. Together we'll focus on stabilization, grounding, containment, and reconnecting with the present moment through simple, supportive practices.

This video includes:
• Gentle self-holds for nervous system support
• Grounding through the body and feet
• Soft orienting with plenty of choice
• Simple resourcing practices to encourage settling and regulation

This is not another trauma processing exercise. Instead, it's a space to pause, reconnect with your body, and give your nervous system permission to rest.

If you're looking for more practical, compassionate nervous system education and gentle somatic practices, I'd love to have you join my free weekly newsletter. And if you're looking for more personalized support, you can also learn more about working with me one-on-one through somatic coaching.
